We are now expanding our business with exciting new product lines and we are therefore looking for a talented embedded software engineer to make it happen. You will have a central role in the development of our future products and help bring these products to new and existing customers around the world. The position is full-time, with start as soon as possible. The work is located in our headquarters in Gothenburg, but time-limited tasks might be located at our international customers’ labs.

At Bluetest you will

  • Develop cutting edge software that will be used by leading tech companies around the world
  • Become an expert of the next generation of wireless systems before they are even launched
  • Work in direct contact with our customers, occasionally on site in their facilities
  • Become a member of the Bluetest engineering community with software, RF and antenna experts in Sweden, USA and China

Typical work tasks

  • Design, implement and maintain bare-metal, RTOS and Linux-based firmware in devices ranging from 8-bit microcontrollers up to desktop CPUs
  • Develop Linux device drivers for custom hardware designs
  • Hands on integration and verification work in electronics and RF lab environment
  • Visit customers and integrate our products in 3rd party test systems

We believe that you have

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 3 years+ experience
  • Alternatively 5 years+ experience with no degree
  • Excellent C programming skills
  • Experience of development for bare-metal and memory constrained environments
  • Experience of using Linux in an embedded environment
  • Experience using microcontrollers/system-on-a-chip/ARM processors with peripheral handling (UART, SPI, I2C)
  • Good understanding of digital logic and register-level programming
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuits and electronic-schematics
  • Passion for writing and maintaining safe efficient code
  • Excellent skills in English, written and spoken. Fluency in other languages is highly appreciated.

  • Rust/C++/Python programming skills
  • Linux kernel device driver development
  • ARM on FPGA
  • Yocto Linux
  • Real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Electronics design (digital design, schematics, PCB)
  • RF design engineering
  • Signal processing
